How to request copies of police reports?
Request for copies of a police report can be made in person from the Records Division during its hours of operation, Monday thru Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., or requested by mail (see below). A fee of $2.50 (total cost), regardless of number of pages, is charged for all reports (cash or checks only). Please note that all reports, including motor vehicle accidents, generally are not available for 5 business days from the date of report.
Request by mail must include the case number along with full payment of $2.50, as well as a self-addressed stamped envelope. The case number and payment amount can be obtained by calling the above listed number. All request made by mail should be sent to:

The release of records is guided by state statute and federal law. Cases in which the charges have been dismissed or erased are not available for release. The Rocky Hill Police Department maintains all reports in accordance with State Statutes.
How to obtain fingerprints?
Town residents who require fingerprinting for various applications or permits may stop at the police department on any Tuesday between 10:00a.m. and 11:00 a.m. for no fee. The Rocky Hill Police Department will also fingerprint any person applying for a Town of Rocky Hill or Rocky Hill Board of Education position. If you are not a town resident, there is a $15.00 fee. Appointments for fingerprints are not accepted.
How do I obtain a pistol permit application?
Applications for pistol permits can be obtained from the Records Division during general business hours 8:00a.m. to 4:00p.m. Monday – Friday.
Do you do In-house records checks for an individual?
The Records Division can conduct a local (Town of Rocky Hill) record check by visiting the department during regular business hours. Local records checks consist of incidents that have occurred within the Town of Rocky Hill only. A State of Connecticut records check can be made by visiting the Department of Public Safety’s (State Police) website at www.ct.gov/dps and follow their instructions.
