Make a Plan.
It is important to talk to your family to prepare for various emergencies. Planning is the key to surviving an emergency. No matter how big or small your family is, the whole family should be part of the planning process to ensure everyone’s needs are met.
Citizens must understand, in extreme emergency situations that the town’s emergency resources may be limited and you should be prepared to care for yourself and your family for at least 3 days.
Your emergency plans should include considerations for elderly family members or perhaps neighbors with special needs, young children, and pets. You will also need to think about how to communicate with each other or obtain information from the media or authorities in an emergency situation.
