The purpose of architectural review is to enhance community character. It provides guidance in preserving and improving the character, appearance and aesthetics of the community. It also serves to protect Rocky Hill's architectural heritage as well as to preserve property values throughout the Town.
The Architectural Review Advisory Board reviews, comments and makes written recommendations on all developments requiring Site Plan review and Special Permit approval by the Planning & Zoning Commission. Exterior building architecture, landscape design and alterations, signage and exterior lighting as well as all changes to facades of non-residential buildings are reviewed by the Board.
The Architectural Review Advisory Board meets at regularly scheduled meetings as well as on an as-needed basis to consider applications filed directly with it or referred to it by the Planning & Zoning Commission.
