Curbside Bulk Waste

The Town of Rocky Hill provides bulk waste pick-up of large items for homeowners.  Bulk waste pick-ups are not provided for commercial properties or apartment complexes.

Residents of apartment complexes may bring bulk items to the Transfer Station with proper proof of residency.

Bulk waste refers to large items that cannot be collected as part of the automated trash collection system such as:  an item of furniture (ie. a couch, a mattress, a bureau), an appliance (i.e, a stove, a microwave), electronics (ie. a printer, a computer, a TV), and other typical household items.  It does not include any demolition, building, renovation, or remodeling materials, no wooden pallets, no mirrors, no glass, and no cardboard.  Those items must be brought to the Transfer Station.  IT DOES NOT INCLUDE TENANT OR HOUSE CLEANOUTS.

Residents should call the Community Development Office at 860-258-2766, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to schedule a curbside bulk waste pick-up.  When they call, they will be assigned a day for their pick-up based on their address.  A map with the zones and addresses can be viewed by clicking here.

Please note: Public Works reserves the right to limit the number of curbside pick-ups at a single residence.
